Livermore Police Plan July 4 Weekend DUI Crackdown
Extra staff will be onhand all weekend, police said.
LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department will have additional officers patrolling this weekend to be on the watch for intoxicated drivers.
Anyone who plans to drink, smoke cannabis or consume medications that could impact their ability to drive safely is urged to stay home or designate a sober driver, police said in a news release. Some medications will have labels that warn against driving or operating heavy machinery, such as a car.
"We are all anxious to get out and return to some sense of normalcy," said Livermore Police Traffic Sgt. Glen Robbins in the news release. "But that doesn't excuse forgetting how to be safe on the road by driving impaired."
