LIVERMORE, CA — The City of Livermore announced it will halt fines, penalties and interest associated with non payment of various bills and taxes for people who lost income, faced large medical expenses or had childcare needs as a result of the new coronavirus outbreak. The moratorium will be in effect through May 31.

The order was signed Monday by City Manager Marc Roberts, the city announced in a news release. It applies to Livermore Municipal Water bills, monthly sewer bills, the Transient Occupancy Tax and the Business License Tax.

Residents must have written documentation of their loss of income or medical expenses to qualify. Anyone who qualifies is still obligated to pay back the city after the moratorium expires.
