LIVERMORE, CA — Longtime Livermore police officer and realtor Mony Nop announced Thursday plans to run for mayor this November.
Nop said on his campaign website that he seeks to: support public safety efforts; build out downtown Livermore while protecting open space; fight homelessness with mini houses and comprehensive services; increase affordable housing options; and bring high-paying jobs to the city.
“I am so looking forward to the opportunity of serving others," Nop said in a news release announcing his candidacy. "Being a Mayor is about leadership, understanding people’s plight, uniting people and guiding them through the pain and struggles they are experiencing now.”
