See: Livermore Stranger’s Heartwarming Gesture Brings Tears To Elderly Man’s Eyes

The uplifting act of kindness made the 97-year-old Arkansas resident's day. Grab a tissue before you watch!

LIVERMORE, CA — A box chock-full of dog treats and gift certificates sent to North Little Rock by a Livermore family recently brought tears to an elderly Arkansas man’s eyes. A video posted to North Little Rock police officer Tommy Norman’s Facebook page shows the heartwarming moment as the 97-year-old opened the box, which was sent to him and his dog Quincy by strangers in the Northern California city outside of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Norman presented the nonagenarian known by Norman’s online followers as “Mr. George” with the seemingly unremarkable box sent priority mail. Inside the box was a wonderful surprise that included a card with a beautiful sentiment, dog treats and toys for Quincy and gift certificates to McDonald’s and Walmart for Mr. George. Norman reads the card to George after the man pauses, wipes his eyes and tells him he cannot read.

“Dear George and Quincy, Hello from Livermore, California. We love watching your videos on Officer Norman’s Facebook page. George, you are such a sweet and polite man… You deserve nothing but the best. We hope Quincy loves his toys and treats. God bless, Amanda, Cody, Morgan and Leo from Livermore, California.”

The random act of kindness, so simple and sweet, made George’s day. Norman says he regularly features videos of locals from the community on his social media and people from all over the globe send him packages to hand out to them.

"Your badge should have a heartbeat and not an ego," Norman told Patch.
