Vice Mayor Woerner Running For Livermore Mayor
Bob Woerner has served as a city councilmember for eight years.

LIVERMORE, CA — Longtime Livermore City Council member and Vice Mayor Bob Woerner has launched a mayoral bid.
Pleasanton Weekly first reported the news.
Woerner will be reaching his term limit on the city council, as he serves the eighth year of his second four-year term. As a council member, Woerner has helped create housing for seniors and veterans, build a downtown park, pass an anti-vaping ordinance and create Livermore's asset management program to ensure critical infrastructure is well-maintained.

He's also served on the Planning Commission and helped guide the city through its recovery after the Great Recession, he said.
"I’ve thoughtfully listened to all views and collaborated effectively to make our city financially strong and a wonderful place to live and work," he said. "I’m proud of the many improvements we see in Livermore and am looking forward to helping us continue to thrive as we navigate through the challenges we now face."

Woerner said he will prioritize: ensuring law enforcement and social services are responsive; ensuring the city is transparent and kept accountable; diverse housing; balanced growth; and sound financial management as the city recovers from economic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
Woerner said he has been endorsed by all of his colleagues on the council and outgoing Mayor John Marchand.
Marchand will be reaching his term limit after serving the final year of his fourth, two-year term as mayor.
