LBPD officers responded to the 900 block of Daisy Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting in the area at 9:54 p.m. Upon arrival officers found Tasby with a gunshot wound on his upper body and rendered aid.

Long Beach Fire Department transported Tasby to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Upon further investigation, Homicide detectives determined that the teen suspect approached Tasby as he was walking down the street and fired multiple gunshots toward him. The boy fled the scene prior to the officers' arrival.
