1 Dead After Car Crashes Into Trader Joe's Security Stand In LA

One person died and four others were being evaluated after a car crashed into a security stand Thursday afternoon, fire officials said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — One person died and four others were evaluated for injuries after a car crashed into a security stand at a Trader Joe's parking lot in Mid-Wilshire Thursday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded at about 1:21 p.m. to the crash near West Third Street and Fairfax Avenue, according to the LAFD.

Five patients were identified at the scene. Four people were transported to local hospitals, while one person was pronounced dead at the scene, fire officials said.

Authorities did not immediately release information about what led to the crash or the identities of those involved.

Aerial footage aired by KTLA showed a sedan had crashed into the security stand.
