The Latino Restaurant Association (LRA) has launched the annual DINE LATINO LA Week 2022, an initiative that showcases the depth and diversity of Latin cuisine and restaurants. To help encourage customers and foodies to sample the wide array of Latin cuisine and different Latino restaurants, DINE LATINO LA Week will run from Tuesday, May 17 through Sunday, May 22, 2022, with more than 80 local, Southern California participating restaurants.

“We are excited over our members who survived the recent pandemic, thrived and chose to participate in this year’s DINE LATINO LA Week 2022,” said Lilly Rocha, executive director and CEO, Latino Restaurant Associations. “So many of our members were impacted by the COVID and the labor shortages created by the Great Resignation, yet they survived and are making comeback. I would encourage all Southern Californians to make reservations this week to sample the wide array of wonderful Latin cuisine available at some of our region’s best restaurants and support our local businesses.”

Southern California residents will be able to celebrate Latin cuisine by getting take-out, ordering delivery or enjoying dine-in at your favorite local Latino restaurant or explore LRA’s participating restaurant list to find your new favorite place. Participating restaurants will be offering a special “DINE LATINO LA” prix fixed menu for lunch, dinner, or both.

Latin cuisine is the typical foods, beverages and cooking styles common to many of the countries and cultures in Mexico and Latin America. It comes from a highly diverse area of land whose nations have varying cuisines. Some items typical of Latin cuisine include maize -based dishes, arepas, pupusas, tacos, tamales, tortillas, and various salsas. Other condiments include guacamole, pico de gallo, mole, chimichurri, and chilis.

This year, dining at these Latino-owned eateries will not only taste good — it will feel good — as patrons will be supporting restaurants as they continue to recover from the economic impact of COVID-19.
