Los Angeles Fire Crews Contain Lopez Fire
The wildfire broke out Thanksgiving Day on Lopez Canyon Road in Sylmar.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Firefighters with the U.S. Forest Service were among crews who responded Thursday to a brush fire in Sylmar.
The Lopez fire broke out at noon Thanksgiving Day at 11950 N. Lopez Canyon Road, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Smoke was visible from Interstate 210 as the wildfire burned near the Lopez Canyon Landfill.

Firefighters held the blaze to a half-acre and it was extinguished by 12:39 p.m., according to Magaret Stewart of the LA Fire Department.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
