Warm Spell Ends As Cooler Air, Chance Of Rain Move Into SoCal
The region's stint of warmth is coming to an end, with more seasonable weather expected to take over.

After little over a week of wintertime warmth in Southern California, cooler temperatures and a slight chance of rain are on the way this week.
Temperatures have been almost summer-like, but that stint is coming to an end as cooler air is expected to move in beginning Wednesday.
“We had a little warm spell here and it’s coming to an end,” Lisa Phillips, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard, told the Los Angeles Times.

Temperatures will inch down from the high 70s in many areas on Tuesday to around 66 degrees on Thursday.
Rain could begin as soon as Thursday and last into Friday as a low pressure system approaches the region.

"Chances for one-half inch or more of rainfall for Thursday through Friday ranges from around 10 percent near the coast to around 20 percent for the mountains," The National Weather Service in San Diego wrote in a Tuesday forecast discussion.
After the mid-week temperature dip, another drying and gradual warming pattern is expected to pick back up in the region.
A renewed chance of rain comes after Southlanders got a brief reprieve from several holiday and New Year's storms that brought record-breaking levels of precipitation to the Golden State for this time of year. The constant downpour also pulled the state out of drought for the first time in 25 years.
