Los Al High Earns National Honor for Advanced Placement Test Rates
Los Alamitos High School students far outpace their statewide peers in passing advanced placement tests.

The Los Alamitos Unified School District has won national honors for enrolling more students in Advanced Placement classes while at the same time improving their passage rate on AP exams.
Los Alamitos is one of only five districts in the nation to be named to the Annual AP District Honor Roll for the sixth year in a row.

āThis is such a testament to the excellent work of our students and teachers, preschool through high school, achieving at extremely high levels,ā said Dr. Sherry Kropp, Los Alamitos district superintendent. āThis would not happen without the equally amazing support of our families and communities.ā
Los Alamitos joins 424 other districts in the U.S. and Canada in being named to the 6th Annual AP honor roll, which is sponsored by the College Board, a non-profit organization that manages the AP and SAT programs and advocates expanding opportunities for students to take the rigorous courses that will enhance their chances of getting into college. The AP District Honor Roll is based on three years of AP data, from 2013-15. In that time, Los Alamitos enrolled 21% more students in AP classes, and 11% more students scored 3 or better on the exams. In 2015, Los Alamitos district students took 1,678 AP exams, and 80% scored a 3 or better. The California average was 64%.
