This Orange County Startup Suggests a Power Nap for All
Nappify co-founder Garden Grove resident Keven Pham suggests that everyone is more productive with a power nap in his mobile nap station.

GARDEN GROVE, CA — Remember when you used to nap as a child? A warm blanket, a dark room, quiet atmosphere and waking up oh so refreshed. That idea has spawned the Orange County startup business Nappify — a mobile “nap pod” service.
It's basically a trailer where, for between $7 and $13, you can get away from it all and snooze for about 40 minutes at a stretch.
According to Nappify studies, sleep deprivation affects most of the workforce in one way or another, whether you are getting up early to commute long distances or in heavy traffic to and from work, or you're a student who is up late studying. The majority of the Starbucks culture will reach for a jolt of caffeine or sugary confection to push through the afternoon slump.

Kevin Pham, an Arizona State University graduate of Vietnamese descent, lives currently in Garden Grove, where he co-founded the business. Orange County is just the test market for this internationally minded company.

Nappify began the summer of 2016 focusing on the college market, as well as hospitals and other businesses. Its nap pods have been spied in Los Angeles at food festivals and will be at Cal State Fullerton in September. The international market, according to an interview on Startup-Buzz.com, is also on this company’s radar. Napping is part of culture in Japan and Vietnam, where people typically power nap for at least an hour every afternoon and positive and productive. Now, this business seeks to take the Google corporate sleep pod idea to the next level, educating potential customers about the power nap and its many benefits
“On September 2nd, we will bring Nappify trailer to California State University at Fullerton to serve students and staffs,” Pham said. “Going forward, we want to extend our Power Nap Wellness program to colleges and universities around SoCal.”
Nappify's mobile sleep pods are the perfect solution for today’s nap-starved adult.
“40 minutes is the perfect length for a power nap,” Nappify says on its website. “Guests avoid falling into a deep sleep, but gain the benefits of a power nap.”

The nap pods on wheels — basically compartmentalized trailers — premiered this summer, and the company promises to bring benefits of power naps during the workday.
“We soundproofed the nap pods, and have rules for incomers to maintain a quiet environment for all guests,” Pham said.
Concerned about not being able to wake up? The pod has a smart light that will turn on when your nap time is done. Cleanliness is also a factor, as the nap “pod” service includes a freshly made bed, clean sheets and fresh pillowcases as well as vacuuming out the pods to ensure they are ready for the next guest.
And according to Nappify, go ahead and have your Starbucks before you lay down. The combination of coffee right before a nap will actually have you better rested and more focused upon waking up.
