• Thoroughbred Meet at Los Alamitos Starts Sept. 11 (bloodhorse.com) — Live thoroughbred racing returns to Los Alamitos this Friday, Sept. 11, kicking off a six-day meet that runs through Sept. 20 with Friday-Sunday cards. Local fans can catch two California-bred stakes races, low-cost admission and parking, and a Sept. 12 handicapping contest awarding seats to the 2027 National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas.
