Seal Beach City Council to Hold Closed Door Meeting on Hiring of City Manager Today

The City Council could decide on a new city manager today.

Seal Beach could be close to hiring a new City Manager.

The City Council will hold a special closed meeting this morning to discuss the hiring of the new city manager.  Through a series of workshops and interviews in recent weeks, city leaders have whittled down their candidates. If the council does come to a decision, it will make an announcement following the special meeting.

For the past several weeks Jill Ingram has been the acting city manager, after having been promoted to assistant city manger. Before Ingram held the position, the city hired Patrick Importuna to serve briefly as interim city manager. Importuna was hired to temporarily replace former City Manager David Carmany until a new city manager could be found, but Importuna abruptly resigned the post last month.
