Breaking: Wind Topples Power Line at Hawthorn, El Monte
Police ask residents to avoid the area.

From the Los Altos Police Department:
A large power line was just knocked down by a fallen tree limb at the intersection of Hawthorn Avenue and S El Monte Avenue. The power line is live and all drivers are asked to avoid the area until further notice. PG&E, Police and Fire crews are onsite now.
Residents in the area will likely lose power for an unknown period of time, as PG&E will need to shut the power off in order to repair the blown transformer.
