Apocalyptic NRA Ad Called A Whisper Shy of Calling for Civil War: Critics say the National Rifle Association’s newest recruitment video represents a dangerous attempt to increase its membership by advocating violence and in what many claim is essentially just a whisper shy of calling for an all out civil war - accusing educators, the news media, the entertainment industry and people protesting Donald Trump’s polices of destroying the country.
I get it - so we have the NRA calling for people to take up arms against people exercising their 1st Amendment rights by protesting. Now if I’m understanding this correctly - and I’m certainly no legal scholar - the NRA is basically advocating that the 2nd Amendment go to war against the 1st Amendment - in order to “protect” our constitution. And while that probably doesn’t make a lot of sense to most people, I’m sure it will make perfect sense to those sitting on the new Trump Supreme Court.
And while I don’t agree, I certainly understand the NRA’s frustration. Hell, at this point in time and space, trying to scare the daylights out of people by telling them “Obama's coming for your guns” seems a bit divorced from reality - not that reality was ever all that important to today’s crop of NRA leaders. But there is one thing you can always count on - no matter what the issue is, the NRA will basically have the same solution for it - buy more guns! So apparently we’ve met the enemy and oddly enough - the NRA says its us!
