City to Break Ground on Two Traffic Safety Projects

EDITOR'S NOTE: Originally published at 6:32 p.m. March 17, 2014. Edited to correct dates of groundbreaking.

The city will break ground on two traffic safety-improvement projects this week.

At 10 a.m. next Tuesday, officials will ceremonially kick off construction at Pacific Coast Highway and Big Rock Drive intersection, where the entire interchange will get a makeover.

Then at 10 a.m. Thursday March 27, they'll gather once again, this time at PCH at Kanan Dume Road, where the arrester bed -- the gravely lane that helps stop runaway vehicles -- will be upgraded to modern-day standards.
