County Tickets Malibu Surf Shack for Giving Lessons Without Permit
The owner says his instructors only give lessons in the parking lot.

The Malibu Surf Shack was ticketed this week by the L.A. County Department of Beaches and Harbors for allegedly giving surf lessons without a permit, according to reports.
The ticket was part of a crackdown on un-permitted surf schools across the county, according to NBC4.
“I’ll make calls and found out exactly what we can and can’t do,” Malibu Surf Shack owner Sean Weber told the news station. “And whatever the guidelines are, that’s what we’ll adhere to.”

The business got flack from the city of Malibu earlier this year for parking their van, which advertises their business, on Pacific Coast Highway. Under a new program, vehicles advertising a business are not allowed to park on PCH.
