Malibu Crash Shears Fire Hydrant, Closes PCH Lanes

A four car crash caused a mess and briefly closed the eastbound lanes of PCH in Malibu Saturday.

A hydrant was sheared today in a four-vehicle crash that briefly closed eastbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

In was unclear if anyone was injured in the 5:54 p.m. crash near Matador State Beach, said Dispatch Supervisor Cheryl Sims of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

A hydrant was sheared, but county firefighters did not take anyone to a hospital, Sims said.

Traffic on eastbound PCH was temporarily diverted through the center median, according to Malibu Emergency Services.
