Malibu Fire Preparedness Meeting Rescheduled After Fires Break Out
The meeting was originally scheduled for June 29, but had to be postponed when fires in Calabasas and Topanga Canyon broke out that day.

MALIBU, CA — The City of Malibu has rescheduled its Public Safety Town Hall meeting, focusing on fire preparedness, to this Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Malibu City Hall. The original meeting, which was scheduled for June 29, had to be postponed when fires broke out in Calabasas and Topanga Canyon that same day.
“Wildfires are a real threat to people and property in Malibu,” said Mayor Skylar Peak in a City of Malibu press release. “When the two fires broke out, it was a powerful reminder of how important it is to be prepared in order to ensure the public safety of the Malibu community.”
Those who attend will learn about what to expect this fire season, how to prepare their families, pets, and properties, as well as the City's plans for evacuation and how they're preparing, according to the press release.
