What's Up with the "NEW" Hair Color?

New hair color thses days claim to be ammonia free. Another substance replaced ammnonia for ammonia has become a buzz word. The other "new substance" hasn't developed that kind of fame. Here's the scoop..Ammonia is produced by your body as well so it is not completely foreign and should be kept in perspective. It just happens that the buzz word at the moment is ammonia-free but how good of an idea is this, really? Ammonia has simply been replaced by something else, often a more recent liquid that hasn't been around long enough to generate any buzz. The most common replacement for ammonia so the product can be called ammonia-free is a more recent invention. Each time this new color residue is in contact with water, it is reactivated, adding slight, addition hair damage each time you wash it. Not necessarily better is it? For some clients, I use herbal color for those that want deposit only color, there is no lifting/lightening ability, however it is still not a hundred percent natural. The only thing that is one hundred percent natural is henna, which is another story. Use the search box on the top upper right on this "Daily Daisy" page for the blog on henna. The bottom line is to beware of the next newest thing, it's not always better.
