Coronavirus: Manhattan Beach To Consider Reopening Farmers Market
Manhattan Beach City Council will decide on reopening the farmers market.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach City Council is considering reopening the farmers market as California's coronavirus stay-at-home order continues and will discuss it today during the city council meeting, the city announced.
The city council will consider reopening the farmers market on limited basis, with some restrictions that include maintaining social distancing, according to the city. Some of those proposals for the Manhattan Beach farmers market include suspending all non-essential gathering, including kids programming, live music and community seating. There's also a new, revised layout for the market that includes more space for vendors and shoppers.
Manhattan Beach City Council decided last week to reopen part of Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach ahead of the heat wave expected across Los Angeles County. The move was announced by the city on a trial basis and people were still required to wear face coverings at the park.
