Southland Gasoline Prices Rise For Fourth Day

The average price is seven-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 6 cents less than one month ago and 8.9 cents lower than a year ago.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose two-tenths of a cent Monday to $2.72, the fourth consecutive increase after dropping to its lowest amount since Aug. 26.

The average price is seven-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 6 cents less than one month ago and 8.9 cents lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose one-tenth of a cent on Friday, four-tenths of a cent on Saturday and six-tenths of a cent on Sunday after dropping eight times in nine days.

The Orange County average price rose three-tenths of a cent Monday to $2.715, the fourth consecutive increase after a nine-day streak of increases.

The Orange County average price is 1.2 cents more than one week ago but 4.9 cents less than one week ago and 8.9 cents lower than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose a half-cent on Friday, four-tenths of a cent on Saturday and six-tenths of a cent on Sunday.
