Congrats To Kaiser Permanente Martinez/Walnut Creek Breast Center For Accreditation
"This accreditation is about providing the best care to our patients," said Dr. Michael Russin.

The Kaiser Permanente Martinez/Walnut Creek Breast Center has been granted a three-year full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
The Radiology Department was also recognized for “best practice” in core biopsy under ultrasound and stereotactic guidance, according to hospital officials.
Accreditation by the NAPBC is given to centers that voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance, officials said in a statement.

The Kaiser Permanente Martinez/Walnut Creek Breast Center is the latest Kaiser Permanente site to receive the NAPBC designation. Five Kaiser Permanente sites in Northern California also have the NAPBC designation: Oakland, San Rafael, Santa Clara, Santa Rosa and Vallejo.
During the survey process, the Breast Care Center demonstrated compliance with standards established by the NAPBC for diagnosing and treating patients with the full spectrum of breast disease. The standards include proficiency in the areas such as center leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education and quality improvement.
