MARTINEZ - A probe into a Martinez high school student's death in April determined that the boy drowned after consuming alcohol and entering a pool unattended, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.
The findings are the result of an investigation into the death on April 24 of Andre Parrilla, a 15-year-old freshman at Alhambra High School.
Parrilla was found by sheriff's deputies who responded at 4:25 a.m. that day to a call about someone in a pool at a home in the 100 block of Hill Girt Ranch Road in an unincorporated part of the county near Martinez.

He was out of the water but not breathing, sheriff's officials said.
CPR was performed on the teen but he died at the scene.

An investigation revealed no signs of foul play.
It was determined that Parrilla consumed alcohol and was unattended in the pool before he drowned, according to the sheriff's office.

Grief counselors were provided at Alhambra High School after Parrilla's death and a candlelight vigil was also held there several days later.
