U.S. Senate Honors Oakland 'Ghost Ship' Warehouse Fire Victims
"Our grief must be followed by action to ensure that something like this never happens again," U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-California, said.

BAY AREA, CA – The U.S. Senate has passed a resolution honoring the 36 people who died in a fire at a warehouse in Oakland's Fruitvale district earlier this month, elected officials said today.
Senate Resolution 637, which was approved on Saturday, also commended the brave first responders who worked tirelessly under difficult conditions to bring comfort to the families of the victims of the Dec. 2
fire.
"I want to thank the Senate for passing this resolution in memory of the victims of this tragic fire," Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, said in a statement.
