The second case occurred at 6:35 a.m. when officers were dispatched to Safeway at 1 Camino Alto, across the street from the previous case. Someone had reported that a male suspect was rummaging through the store's dumpsters, police said.

When officers arrived on scene, the suspect, later identified as Mark Adams, was allegedly placing food items into a Scion coupe that was parked nearby, police said. Officers determined that the license plates on the car were stolen and the car was also reported stolen from Ukiah.

Adams was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, stolen property, a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and for forging or altering a vehicle registration.
