ACTING OUT AT THE THROCK, Throckmorton Youth Programs' fun-packed summer camp offers rich, engaging theatrical experiences for young performers of all backgrounds and abilities, taught by a staff of professional artists who teach and perform in the Bay Area.

SESSION 1 (2ND-5TH GRADERS) 
JUNE 24TH-JULY 12TH, 2013 - 9-3pm Daily

The 2nd-5th graders will be performing THE GRUNCH, a new musical for young performers! THE GRUNCH tells the story of Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 5th grader who always feels like an outsider. When the entire school gets excited about the annual school musical, he comes up with a perfect plan to ruin it for everyone; he'll steal the sets, costumes and lights the night before it opens. But will the spirit of theatre prevail? This fun, energetic musical revue is designed to give a wide range of young performers an opportunity to hit the stage and shine! Campers spend the first part of the day rehearsing and doing show-related crafts. The second part of the day is spent focusing on singing, acting and dance training, in small, age-based groups. New this year, a field trip to the mountain theater for a day of outdoor theatre fun. Also, the ever popular Barbecue and Movie Night will be making a return for it's fifth year this summer! Session culminates in a free performance of the new musical THE GRUNCH, for friends and family to attend, on the last day of the session, Friday July 12!  Session 1 Price: $1,025.00 

SESSION 2 (6TH-9TH GRADERS) 
JULY 15TH-JULY 26TH, 2013 - 9 - 3pm Daily

This year's theme for the 6th-9th grade session is BROADWAY MEETS THE MOVIES! Campers learn songs from Broadway shows that were movies, or vise versa, and then work in small groups, creating scenes to accompany the songs they are performing! Instructors guide the creative process, as well as giving instruction in acting, singing and dance. The session includes a field trip to San Francisco to enjoy a touring Broadway show on Wednesday, July 17th. Session culminates in an original performance featuring Broadway songs, written and performed by the young actors, for their family and friends, on Friday, July 26!   Session 2 Price: $725.00
