Fees Increase In March At Marin Headlands Campgrounds
Camping fees at the Kirby Cove and Bicentennial campgrounds in the Marin Headlands are increasing on March 11.
MARIN COUNTY, CA – Camping fees at the Kirby Cove and Bicentennial campgrounds in the Marin Headlands of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area are increasing on March 11.
Camping fees at Kirby Cove will increase from $25 to $30, while day use fees will increase from $35 to $45.
Camping at Bicentennial campground, which was free, will now cost $20. Access and senior lifetime interagency pass holders will still receive 50 percent off camping.

The increased fees will support the expansion of an online reservation system, new campground amenities and other projects that benefit visitors, Golden Gate National Recreation Area officials said.
The fees will pay for installation of charcoal grills and a vault toilet at the Bicentennial campground.

The National Park Service approved the fee increases in December.
The fee increase at Kirby Cove campground is the first since 1997.
The National Park Service's online reservation system, www.recreation.gov, will expand today to include camping reservations at Bicentennial campground.
The fee increases are in line with fees charged at similar campgrounds throughout California, GGNRA officials said.
