The former employee spent the money on luxury travel, spa services, and retail purchases before being apprehended at SFO, police said.
TIBURON, CA – A San Francisco woman, formerly employed as a nanny in Tiburon, was arrested at San Francisco International Airport in late March, in connection with a felony credit card fraud scheme exceeding $60,000, police said.
The Tiburon Police Department announced the arrest of 35-year-old Naghmeh Novbakhtian, who is suspected of racking up tens of thousands of dollars in unauthorized charges on a former employer's credit card.
The investigation began on March 26, when a Tiburon resident filed a fraud complaint. The victim told police that Novbakhtian had worked as a nanny in her home from July 2025 through December 11, 2025, during which time she had authorized access to a credit card for childcare-related expenses, police said.
