Join Us for a Miller Avenue Streetscape Project Open House

Please join us for an Open House on the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

Please join us for an Open House on the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Mill Valley Community Center.

The purpose of the meeting is to reintroduce the project to the community before the City Council takes a look at the intermediate design, funding details, implementation schedule and the environmental review of the project.

We recognize the need to take the time to get it right and to fully inform the community about this important project. Sensitivity to the needs of businesses and residents during the construction phase, insuring that the project details protect and enhance the community’s small town character, and proactively addressing environmental impacts are all integral parts of the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project.

Background:
After years of planning, budgeting and engineering, the City of Mill Valley is set to embark in early 2016 on the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project, a complete overhaul of one of our town’s two primary arteries. The project is the biggest road renovation the City has undertaken in decades: an overhaul of approximately two miles of Miller Avenue. The project stretches from Almonte Boulevard near Tamalpais High all the way to Sunnyside Avenue in the downtown.

In 2011 the Mill Valley City Council approved the Miller Avenue Streetscape Master Plan with the goal of creating a “complete street,” improving multi-modal transportation, preserving and enhancing ecology and landscape, protecting and emphasizing cultural features and character, and repairing infrastructure.
