Mill Valley Fire Chief Loses Home In Santa Rosa Fire
Mill Valley Fire Chief Tom Welch lost his home in the Tubbs Fire that devastated the Coffey Park neighborhood of Santa Rosa.
MILL VALLEY, CA – The Mill Valley community is rallying around a local fire chief whose home was destroyed in the North Bay wildfires.
Mill Valley Fire Chief Tom Welch, a resident of Santa Rosa, lost his home Monday in the Tubbs Fire that devastated the Coffey Park neighborhood in Santa Rosa.
After hearing the news, officials from the city of Mill Valley launched a YouCaring campaign to raise money for the Welch family and other Mill Valley staff affected by the North Bay wildfires. City officials said as many as 10 other employees have been evacuated from the areas impacted by the fire, according to the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center's blog.

As of 4:40 p.m. Monday, $10,325 has been raised toward the $50,000 fundraising goal.
