Mill Valley Installs Emergency Sirens: Did You Hear it?
The city tested the system Tuesday.

Mill Valley, CA — Did you hear it?
The city of Mill Valley tested its new emergency warning sirens at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.
Five sirens have been placed strategically throughout the city, and will be sounded to warn residents during a wildland fire or other natural disaster or emergency, according to a city news release.

The sirens are located in Cascade, Blithedale and Warner Canyons, plus Scott Valley and atop Mill Valley City Hall.
In the event of an emergency, the city will activate one or all of the sirens to alert residents to tune into local radio and television stations for further information and instructions.

The city advised residents that sirens will be sounded at noon on the first Saturday of each month when the city tests its emergency warning system.
If residents hear the sirens at any other time, they should tune in to KQED 88.5 FM, KCBS 740 AM or KGO 810 AM and local TV stations for further information.
The city offered the followed dos and don'ts for residents seeking to stay informed prior to and during an emergency:
- DON'T call 911 when you hear the sirens; use 911 for life-threatening emergencies only.
