Miller Ave. Businesses Open During Mill Valley Construction

According to the city, construction has been tough on area businesses.

MILL VALLEY, CA -- The city is reminding residents and visitors that despite the Miller Avenue Streetscape Project impacting the street, businesses in the area are still open daily.

"Community support and spirit is especially strong during the holidays, and we'd like to encourage everyone show your support for our area businesses this holiday season by doing all of your holiday shopping right here in Mill Valley," the city said in its most recent weekly update on the project's progress.

The Miller Avenue Streetscape Project is an 18-month undertaking to repair infrastructure and improve multi-modal use of Miller Avenue; components include addressing safety for pedestrians and bicyclists of all ages and abilities, providing better transit access, and improving motorist safety.

Construction, which began the week of June 13, is expected to continue through 2017.

According to the city, construction has been tough on businesses in the area, especially those on Miller Avenue.

"These local businesses are a part of what makes Mill Valley great, so please do your part to help them out as we continue work on this important project," the city said in its weekly update. "Please shop Miller Ave today!"
