Muir Woods National Monument, Other Recreational Sites Reopen After Storms
The Marin Headlands Visitors Center, Muir Woods National Monument, Muir Beach and Stinson Beach have all reopened.
MARIN COUNTY, CA – Most Golden Gate National Recreation Area sites are open Wednesday after storms caused their closures Tuesday, park officials said.
The Marin Headlands Visitors Center, Muir Woods National Monument, Muir Beach and Stinson Beach have all reopened.
The phones are out at the Marin Headlands Visitor Center, but the power has been restored, GGNRA spokesman Nathan Sargent said.

However, Tennessee Valley Beach in Marin County is still closed, Sargent said. A couple of trails also remain closed, including the San Mateo County trail to Sweeney Ridge and the Batteries to Bluffs trail at the Presidio in San Francisco.
A wind advisory has been issued for the coastal North Bay until 4 p.m. Thursday, so places such as Muir Woods could close Thursday because of wind impacts such as downed trees and falling tree limbs.

GGNRA officials make decisions on closures on a day-by-day basis. Several sites were closed Tuesday because officials said falling trees at those locations could pose significant safety hazards to visitors as well as staff.
"But we're happy to be open today," Sargent said.
