These October news stories highlight our care for others.
Every now and then I’ve got to step back and laugh. Having been a caregiver for a very special loved one and having shared stories and feelings with other caregivers who are struggling every day to their best, I have to intentionally look for the bright side of everyday life.
So I want to share with you some of the good news I’ve recently come across.

A store in the United Kingdom that lets you pay what you can for groceries that would otherwise be thrown away.
Known as the Real Junk Food Project (RJFP), this organization combats food waste. It’s newly established “warehouse” allows shoppers to pay what they can afford to pay for edible food that was destined to be sent
to landfills.

How a military doll found its way home. A military plush doll discovered at a gas station was taken to the station’s store clerk. She knew right away that this chatty doll (“Hey Buddy, it’s dada. I miss you and love you.") was special to some child whose parent was serving overseas. Quick on her feet, she posted a picture of the doll on Facebook asking for help locating its owner. Some 3,000 shares later the doll was returned to a
young boy who was very happy to have it back.
Autistic children can have the quiet time they need at the zoo before it opens to the rest of the public. Reports indicate that the Tarongo Zoo in South Wales has partnered with Autism Spectrum Australia, training 100+ staff members to help to kids on the autism spectrum. These youngsters also get VIP badges to wear in case they need extra assistance. Zoo officials have also designed several tranquil zones throughout the park for youth who want to a quiet break.
I don’t know about you, but news like this always uplifts me; making me glad to be part of the human race.
