Coroner IDs Man Killed By Falling Tree In Berryessa Creek Park
Rescuers do not know how the long the poor man was trapped under the tree before being found Monday.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA - A man who died while trapped under a fallen tree Monday afternoon in San Jose has been identified as 69-year-old Xingzhu Shi of China, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
Fire crews responded to a report of a person pinned under a tree around 3:15 p.m. Monday at Berryessa Creek Park, located southwest of Piedmont Road and Cropley Avenue, fire Capt. Christopher Salcido said.
When firefighters arrived they found a man, later identified as Shi, trapped under a tree that measured about 2 to 3 feet in diameter, Salcido said.

They don’t know how long Shi was under the tree and determined he died before they reached the scene, according to Salcido.
