Update: 1 Lane of Eastbound Calaveras Open

MILPITAS, CA --A motorcyclist was killed in Milpitas this morning, closing busy Calaveras Boulevard between Interstate Highway 680 and Abel Street. That route is used by thousands of cars per day commuting from Fremont and the Tri-Valley into Silicon Valley. One lane of eastbound traffic has reopened, but traffic is a disaster.

Alternate route: Use Mission Boulevard in Fremont to cut over to I-880. If it's too late, you've already passed Mission, use Jacklin in Milpitas. Jacklin turns into Abel, then turn right onto Calaveras.

Westbound remains completely shit down. The road will be closed for hours due to the investigation.
