Drug Take-Back Day in Milpitas: Circle The Date!

Go through your medicine cabinets, cupboards and drawers and rid your home of unused, expired prescriptions. No questions asked!

MILPITAS, CA – The Milpitas Police Department, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration, is hosting a Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the police station at 1275 N. Milpitas Blvd.

The public can safely turn in potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of these drugs, the department said.

Last October, Milpitas residents turned in 165 pounds of prescription and over the counter drugs, police said.

Americans turned in 366 tons (over 731,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at over 5,200 sites operated by the DEA and its thousands of state and local law enforcement partner. In its 12 previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners took in over 7.1 million pounds—more than 3,500 tons—of pills.
