Milpitas Police Provide Update on Wednesday Fatal Accident
A driver collided with a garbage truck and died after driving off, police said.

The driver of a silver Cadillac crashed into a garbage truck in Milpitas early this morning and was found dead in the car about a quarter-mile away, police said.
The crash involving the Cadillac and garbage vehicle was reported to Milpitas police at 3:36 a.m. at North Milpitas Boulevard and Jacklin Road, police Sgt. Dave Morris said.

The Cadillac was located later in a residential neighborhood at Coyote Street and Redwood Avenue about a quarter-mile southwest with the driver’s body inside, Morris said.
The driver of the garbage truck was not injured, according to Morris.

The person who died in the Cadillac has yet to be identified.
Police are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run collision, Morris said.
