Heat Advisory Issued by National Weather Service for Inland Orange County

A heat advisory has been issued today by the NWS. Follow the below listed precautionary measures for avoiding heat stroke, or heat illness.

MISSION VIEJO, CA—There is a heat advisory today issued by the National Weather Service for the Santa Ana Mountain and Foothills areas of inland Orange County. This mini-heatwave will begin today through Saturday, with slight cooling trend toward the beginning of next week.

The National Weather Service San Diego issued a heat advisory in effect from noon today until 8 p.m. Saturday.

The hottest temperatures are likely to range from 95 to 100 degrees in Inland Orange County communities.

Temperatures will range from 100 to 110 in the Santa Ana mountains.

The impacts of this extreme heat are heat illnesses for people at risk. This includes the very old and very young as well as pets.

Precautionary measures should be put in place for people who work or spend time outside.

  • When possible, reschedule strenuous activity to early morning and evening.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
  • Wear light and loose fitting clothing when possible.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
  • Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
