Montrose Resident Susie Hoard Named Gamma Lambda Outstanding Member of 2013

Montrose resident Susie Hoard was honored as the Gamma Lambda Outstanding Member of 2013 at the Area IX Spring Festival at the Knollwood Country Club in Granada Hills on Saturday, March 9, 2013. 

Gamma Lambda is the Glendale-La Crescenta chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an association of women educators.  Hoard has been the second vice president of Gamma Lambda for the last three years.  She has been instrumental in providing interesting and informative programs for this group which consists of active and retired teachers in the Glendale and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. 

Hoard is a fifth grade teacher of gifted students at Los Angeles Unified School District’s Sunland Elementary Gifted Magnet in Sunland.  With an interest and expertise in U.S. History, Hoard was selected to participate in the Colonial Williamsburg Institute in 2010 and was invited back to serve as a peer facilitator in 2011.  Hoard also serves as a mentor teacher to students from CSUN and CSULA.

Hoard is married to Kevin, and they have a 17 year old son, Corey.
