Community College Theatre Arts Department production of the musical "The 25th Annual Putnam
County Spelling Bee” will be held Nov. 12 and 20 in the Auditorium from 7
to 10 p.m. Call-backs will be on Friday, Nov. 26 if necessary.
Those planning to
audition should read the material and prepare 16-32 bars of a contemporary song and a one-minute
contemporary monologue. Bring sheet music as an accompanist is provided. Wear proper clothing and shoes for movement
for a dance audition. Go to the
lobby of the Auditorium Building to sign in.
Auditions are by appointment.

Cast members must
enroll in the winter session and spring semester courses Theatre Arts 160 –
Musical Theatre Workshop (spring), Music 170 – Music for Musical Theatre
(winter) and Theatre Arts 129 – Backstage Lab for Performers (spring). Stage managers and technical operators are
also needed for the production. The
musical will run for two weekends opening April 3, 2014.
The
“The 25th Annual Putnam County
Spelling Bee” book was written by Rachel Sheinkin with music and lyrics by William
Finn. Jeanette D. Farr will be the
director.
