Blog: If We Only Would Have Had Skateboards Back Then

My memories of Clark Jr High and how cool it would have been to have skateboards then.

I lived on Roaemary Avenue, from 1951 to 1960 and I went to Clark ...the old Clark.  For three years, I rode the Brock Bus Lines bus from Sunview and Rosemary  to Clark,  That bus filled with kids really labored to get up Ramsdell.  I walked home every day for three years.  Quite a few kids lived way down from Clark.  Just think how fun it would have been to have had skateboards back then.  Miles and miles of downhill.  Carry them to Clark and ride them home.  Also think how if we had thought of boards back then, and designed them and patented them, we could have made our parents millionaires.  We would benefit too using the trickle down method.  I really miss those good old days when life was so slow, so safe, so romantic when a kid's eyes opened to all the cute girls.  The music was so innocent...wondering how much the doggie was in the window.  Neighbors invited us over to watch the test pattern on a 10 inch TV screen and all commenting on how amazing it was.  My Father made me stop watching the East Side Kids as he thought it would give me a bad attitude....which I would develop anyway....Great days were those...b
