Kick off Earth Day weekend with the flora and fauna at the Rosemont Preserve. Join us as native plant expert Roger Klemm leads volunteers in a session to restore the natural habitat. With the help of the community we have already eradicated most of the invasive plant species such as arundo and castor bean. In this session we will focus on identifying and removing tree tobacco to allow further room for the native growth to become reestablished.
Please meet the Friends of the Rosemont Preserve on Saturday, April 20 from 9:00am until 11:00am. Wear sturdy shoes, comfortable clothes and garden gloves (long pants and sleeves are recommended.) If you have loppers or a tree handsaw, please bring them along. The Preserve is located at the north end of Rosemont Avenue, just past the chain link fence. As street parking is limited, please park at Two Strike Park.
Concurrent to our Restoration Day, we will also be hosting a booth at the Crescenta Valley Arbor Day Celebration at Two Strike Park from 10am to 12pm. Please pay us a visit to learn about exciting docent led tours, educational opportunities and other events in the works!
