Officials ID Man In Alleged Angeles Crest Suicide

Man was a resident of Chowchilla, officials reported Thursday.

The body of a man who apparently committed suicide was identified Thursday by the coroner's office as 23-year-old Jason Mo of Chowchilla.

The body was found Wednesday near mile marker 29.5 of the Angeles Crest Highway in the Angeles National Forest, northeast of La Canada Flintridge some time before 10 a.m., said Inspector Anthony Akins of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The first arriving units cordoned off the scene due to the presence of the hazardous materials and summoned a hazmat team from the Santa Clarita Valley.
