At Red Rock, a Poem Marks a New Day
At the end of a musical open mic night, Cassandra Davis delivers a strong message.

On Monday, Cassandra Davies awoke to a beautiful day. So she wrote a poem.
The day after the announcement that the country's "most wanted" person had been killed, Davis watched broadcasts of people celebrating in Washington, D.C., and New York City.
"I thought about how we didn't like it when they did that to us," said the Redwood City resident, who performed her poem, Sun Shine: On the Death of bin Laden, at Red Rock Coffee on Castro Street in Mountain View. "I thought it was ironic, because it was such a beautiful day."
