Meet and Move for Caregiver Support

Calling all Caregivers: Meet and Move for free support is back by popular demand!

Meet & Move™

This popular “walk and talk” program designed to give adult caregivers a healthy break, some downtime, connect with others and get some much need support at their convenience. Plus everything is offered to fit within your schedule.

Did I mention that it’s FREE. The pilot program that started a few months back was so successful, and the people who joined liked it so much that Meet and Move is growing and expanding in 2015.

Caregiving is difficult. I know, because I have cared for many relatives and just finished caregiving for a friend with Leukemia.

While most caregivers feel appreciated and needed, the work they do can impact their health and well-being. A recent survey by AARP of 500 adult caregivers found the following statistics:

• 42% experience “quite a bit” or a “great deal” of fatigue

• 26% complained of physical strain

• 20% frequently felt guilty or emotionally upset

• 20% said caregiving had a negative effect on their social lives

Meet & Move is free and open to adults who provide some level of caregiving to an aging relative or friend, have access to the Internet and currently live in Mountain View, Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Cupertino and surrounding communities. For general information and information about the next orientation please call 650-934-3556. You can also sign up online here.

I hope you’ll sign up today and start Meeting and Moving!
