MURRIETA, CA — A high-speed street race between Lamborghinis ended in a crash that injured two people over the weekend, according to the Murrieta Police Department. Police arrested one of the drivers and were still looking for the second driver as of Tuesday morning.

According to police, drivers sped two Lamborghini Huracans across Murrieta streets Friday night until one of the racers crashed into a third vehicle, leaving a road full of shrapnel in their wake.

The crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. Friday on Jefferson Avenue, according to the Murrieta Police Department.

"The two Huracans were traveling next to each other on Jefferson at a high rate of speed," Murrieta police reported over Facebook. "One of the vehicles lost control and struck a third vehicle that was traveling in the far right lane."

"Due to the debris field and a few hundred feet of skid, it was obvious that one of the vehicles was not doing the posted speed limit of 45 mph. It's not rocket science," police said.

A victim in the third car suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.

One of the Huracan drivers, identified by police as Colorado resident Austin Harmon, 29, was taken to a hospital for an unspecified injury.

Harmon was later arrested on suspicion of reckless driving and illegal speed contest, according to police, and was slated to appear in Murrieta court in November and was freed on $2,500 bond, according to jail records.

Lamborghini Huracans typically retail for well over $200,000.
