• Feather Alert Issued For Missing 14-Year-Old Girl From Murrieta: CHP (patch.com subscription) — Authorities are urgently searching for 14-year-old Brooklyn Salvesen, last seen near Nighthawk Way and Washington Avenue in Murrieta on September 1. A Feather Alert has been issued for the Native American teen, described as 5-foot-1 with black hair and brown eyes, and anyone with information is asked to call 911 immediately.
   

• Murrieta Valley football earns nonleague victory in shootout with Cajon (pressenterprise.com) — Murrieta Valley High's Nighthawks pulled off a dramatic 43-38 nonleague win over Cajon, capped by a last-minute 70-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Buck Bachmeier. The game showcased big offensive performances and sets up Murrieta Valley's upcoming home league opener against Roosevelt on September 18.
   

• San Diego County man accused of threatening Temecula mosque (sandiegouniontribune.com) — A Warner Springs man is facing state and federal charges after authorities say he mailed a letter threatening a mass shooting at the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley, and he is currently held in a Murrieta jail on $70,000 bail. Investigators report seizing multiple firearms, including a suspected ghost gun, while Muslim community leaders condemn rising threats against mosques in Southern California.
